Greetings!
As part of the changes that have been made recently to PCFootball.net, the rules reguarding posting on our forums have been tweeked as well. To that end we, the ownership, have also felt that it is necessary to re-state the mission of this site as well.
Mission Statement:
1. It is the primary goal here at PCFootball.net to promote and provide support for Football games that can be played on the personal computer. This can be accomplished by providing resourses that may enhance the enjoyment of playing said games. This includes, but is not limited to:
a. Providing rudimentary technical support for games through the use of our forums.
b. Providing files that can be downloaded and inserted into the game to enhance the gaming experience.
c. Providing tips for playing the games that can enhance the ability of the player(s) through our forums.
d. Providing cheat codes (if available) that can unlock more teams that can be played in the game.
e. Providing access to several on-line leagues so that players can compete with other gamers
2. It is the secondary goal here at PCFootball.net to influence software manufacturers to produce football games that can be played on the PC. This includes but is not limited to contacting representatives of said software manufacturers and requesting their products be produced for the PC.
3. It is the tertiary goal here at PCFootball.net to establish relationships with other websites that might benefit our primary and secondary goals. This includes contact with other webmasters and/or posters at their sites to inform them of the goals of PCFootball.net.
4. It is our goal here at PCFootball.net to establish a relationship with media outlets that might be able to assist in the promotion of this site either through their web sites, magazines or television programs.
5. It is our goal here at PCFootball.net to financially support this site primarily
through donations.
6. It is our goal here at PCFootball.net to provide breaking news that pertains to football games that can be played on the PC.
7. It is our goal here at PCFootball.net to promote the hobby of video gaming as a whole.
8. It is our goal here at PCFootball.net to defend gaming as a hobby against those who would seek to criminalize the activity, criticize the activity, limit the activity, or altogether ban the activity. This applies to the adult gaming community, as we here at PCFootball.net believe that parents should be the ones who decide what is best for their children. This includes but is not limited to:
a. Politicians.
b. Political Activists.
c. Commentators
d. School Administrators
e. Teachers
9. It is our goal here at PCFootball.net to defend gamers against those who would seek to persecute them and criminalize them, and otherwise make them out to be a threat to society as a whole. This includes but is not limited to:
a. Politicians
b. Political Activists
c. Commentators
d. School Administrators
e. Teachers
10. It our goal here at PCFootball.net to clarify the difference between games that are made and marketed towards adults, and games that are meant for minors. By extension, this goal also includes educating the general public about the ratings system, how it is applied and how Parents may be able to use the system to decide for themselves what games are or are not appropriate for their children.
Forum Rules:
Now that you know the goals of this site, it is time to clarify some of the rules for posting on this site. These rules are not meant to limit what can be said here, but to give you a guideline by which the above goals may be achieved. While there are some sites that might enjoy banning, we at PCF never enjoy it. Breaking posted rules of our forum is grounds for it, and even then, it's tough for us to "push the button." Most of you will never have to worry about these, but for those few who need to know, here are the
rules:
1) No multiple accounts, there's no need for them. One account should be sufficient for anyone. If you are found to have multiple accounts, they'll be banned save for your original account. You will then receive a warning that you have been found to have multiple accounts, and that your account has been flagged. Any subsequent attempts to register multiple accounts will lead to the banishment of your primary account as well as any subsequent accounts you may have registered. We believe in second chances here at PCFootball.net, but our patience is not infinite. If you have a name change or something else you want done that you can't do, let one of the administrators or owners know and we will be able to handle it for you.
2) No CD cracks, keys, illegal links, etc. We strive to maintain and build good relationships with the providers of the games we all enjoy. They don't look too kindly on providing this information as they consider it to be a form of piracy.
So do we. Therefore, anyone providing any links or coming here with the
sole purpose of advertising such a site will be immediately banished from
the forums. No ifs, ands or buts.
3) We ask that no nudity or pornography be posted on this site. This is a gaming site, this is not the place for that type of content. There are plenty of other sites on the internet where that content can be viewed and/or downloaded either for free or a small fee. We want to keep this site as “clean” as possible so that we may concentrate on accomplishing our goals.
4) We ask that no slurs of a racial, ethnic, sexual orientation or sexist nature be made here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing issues of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender equity, and even in football, and in the sports world in general these things sometimes come up. But disparaging remarks about a particular race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender
can start more trouble than it is worth. There is no way of telling who might be offended by these remarks, so we ask you to err on the side of caution.
5) We would like you to feel free to discuss other websites, their administrators and/or their posters as much as you wish. We would ask you to keep any remarks you might make in a positive
vein. We would ask you to not dwell on any negative comments, and instead offer up some constructive criticism. For instance: “So-and-so over at such-and-such is a pretty good admin, but he needs to improve on how he blah-blah-blahs in order for his site to get to the next level.”
6) Sometimes people may sign up here for the purpose of spamming, or worse, insulting current members just to stir up trouble. These folks are obviously of the sort that we don't want here, so they will be gone immediately. Of course, the benefit of the doubt will always be given, and mature conversation, no matter how much it is disagreed with, is never grounds for banishment. But when it is obvious that the goal of the poster is simply childish venting or insult for their own amusement, we'll have no choice but to let them go.
7)
Any attempt to hack into either another user's account or the website
without consent of the user or members of the ownership staff will result
in immediate banishment.
